Uber lets seniors set up solo accounts and ‘simple mode’

No family organiser required; larger text, arrival alerts and easy-entry vehicle pilot in nine markets.

Uber says older riders can now create senior accounts without linking to a family organiser, plus tools meant to make the app easier to use.

Business Insider reports a Senior button on the account page, optional “simple mode” with larger text/icons, and the ability to tell drivers they are an older adult and how to signal arrival (call, message or horn). An easy-entry vehicle option is piloting in nine markets via accessibility settings for reduced mobility. Uber frames the push as expanding reach after other age-focused features such as parental teen-ride livestreams. Previously senior accounts needed a family organiser link.
