A Grangetown woman who stole a Teesside private hire driver’s phone and wallet through a car window has received an 18-month community order.
PHTM / court reporting say Daniella Shellard, 39, approached a Royal Cars cabbie near Newport Bridge on 16 June while he waited for a customer. After he said she must book through the firm, she grabbed his iPhone 14 Pro Max, demanded £50 to return it, then took his wallet. Nursing-home staff called police; officers caught her on foot and returned the items. She later admitted theft after first blaming others. Judge Nicholas Lumley called offences against taxi drivers “quite disgraceful.” She must also do 30 rehabilitation days and a drug rehab requirement.
