Spalding taxi crews warn of roadworks ‘carnage’ again

Pinchbeck cycle path and sinkhole works stretch journeys; council calls it short-term pain for long-term gain.

Spalding taxi workers are again warning that stacked roadworks have turned ordinary jobs into long delays.

PHTM coverage matches earlier Highways News reporting: Smart Cabs staff describe confusing layouts and trips that should take under an hour stretching past 80 minutes. Lincolnshire County Council points to the Pinchbeck Road cycle scheme (one-way, due end October), other street closures and Enterprise Way sinkhole repairs, with traffic managers apologising while promising longer-term benefits.
