Heywood Op Paragon checks 60+ vehicles — 13 taxis stopped

Joint police, licensing and DVLA day: expired badge suspension, ghost plates, seatbelt and phone offences logged.

Heywood Neighbourhood Policing’s Op Paragon traffic day stopped more than 60 vehicles with council taxi licensing, DVLA, GMP Traffic and Rochdale tutor-unit support.

PHTM reports 13 taxis/PHVs checked: one licence suspended for expired badges and several drivers advised about ID display. Police outcomes included document advice, a tint fix, a drug search, two breath tests, TORs for headlight and no MOT, four seatbelt and two phone offences, plus two fail-to-stop prosecutions. DVLA logged 12 non-compliance stops, nine misrep forms and three ghost-plate offences. Planners said the push followed anti-social driving concerns and aimed at Fatal Five risks as well as licensed-trade roadworthiness.
