Bury firm tells airport customers: try Liverpool instead

Nolan’s Airport Transport says T2 queues of 30–45 minutes leave no nearby wait and only 15 minutes in the car park.

A Bury private hire firm has told customers facing Manchester Airport Terminal 2 chaos to consider flying via Liverpool instead.

Nolan’s Airport Transport said around 90% of passengers now use T2 for drop-off and pick-up, with drivers queuing 30–45 minutes to enter T2 west, nowhere nearby to wait, and a 15-minute car-park collection window. “Or use Liverpool,” the firm added. PHTM and the Bury Times carried the warning; some travellers praised Liverpool John Lennon as easier, while noting it is a poor substitute for many long-haul routes.

Manchester Airport said September congestion reflected higher local traffic and more couples/solo travellers per vehicle than summer peaks. It deployed extra marshals, is working with TfGM on traffic-light timings, and is running an “extensive review.” MEN later quoted the airport saying acute issues had subsided and traffic was flowing normally, with marshals still in place.
