Taxi insurer Acorn Insurance has opened nominations for its 2026 Taxi Hero Award celebrating drivers who support their communities.
Company posts and DM News coverage say one outstanding driver will be named Britain’s Taxi Hero and receive a £1,000 Amazon gift card (and trophy). Acorn cites a survey of 2,000 UK adults finding 82% see taxi drivers as important to their local community while 44% feel they lack recognition. Nominations are open via Acorn’s Taxi Hero Award page subject to terms.
